For the eastern North Pacific, east of 140 degrees west longitude:

No tropical cyclones formed in the eastern Pacific basin in the 
month of June or since the beginning of the 2024 eastern Pacific 
hurricane season which starting on May 15.  

Based on a 30-year climatology (1991-2020), two named storms 
typically form in June, making this season's activity well below 
average.  This season currently ranks second in terms of the 
latest date a named storm has formed during the reliable period of 
records in the basin (1971-2024), behind only 2016 when the first 
named storm formed on July 2.
